Educational Fly Fishing Weekend

Penns Creek Angler in conjunction with a wonderful upscale Bed and Breakfast will host a weekend of fly fishing education.

The Fun will start with Friday night & Saturday night accommodations at one of Pennsylvania's finest B&B's. The property has a private pond and a private section of Pine Creek for casting and fishing.

The weekend will consist of check in at the B&B Friday night.

Saturday morning you will have a continental breakfast but please feel free to use the beautiful kitchen for cooking your own food.

After breakfast will will have a round table discussion to get to know everyone in the group along with the abilities of each person.

The course will be geared toward novice fly fishermen that would like to cover the basics of fly fishing. We will cover how to care for your equipment, Reels, Fly Lines, Leaders, Tippets and the knots you will need to learn to be successful on the water.  

After the round table discussion we will head to the pond for casting instructions. At first we will not use flies we will have everyone casting well and then we will put some flies on and catch a few of the fish that are stocked in the pond. As everyone becomes more confident we will head down to Pine Creek and try to catch some of the native trout that are in this small jewel of a trout steam.

Lunch will be served after fishing Pine Creek and then you will be guided on Penns Creek for the rest of the day and into the evening.

Sunday we will meet at the lodge and have breakfast and another round table discussion to answer any questions you may still have from the prior day.

Then its off to Penns Creek for a whole day of guided fishing.

There will be 3 qualified instructors for this event and it will be limited to 5-8 people.

The date will be set for a weekend in April after the opening day of trout.

This would make a great father and son weekend!

More about the B&B

The main Lodge has 5 private bedrooms, two bathrooms, two kitchens in two separate but connected facilities.

There are other units available that hold less people and you may choose to stay at one of the smaller units.

But we will all meet at the main lodge on both mornings.
