There are three separate rooms, 1 private bed room with full size bed, 1 sleeping room with 3 single beds, Extra room with single bed, living room, kitchen and dining area, private bath with a washer and dryer. Its about 1200 sq feet of your own private space. There is bar is with in walking distance and they serve good food.
Penns Creek Angler has the largest selection of fly tying material, flies, and general fishing equipment in the area. We "specialize" in flies designed specifically for Penns Creek but also maintain a large quantity of flies for White Deer Creek, Spring Creek, Big Fishing Creek and the smaller Brook Trout streams in the area.
Location
Our apartment provides the best location to fish all sections of Penns Creek with a minimum of driving. Its a short 1 mile drive to the creek at Glen Iron, this is the starting point for the Green Drake. We are 6 miles from the lower boundary of the famous Catch and Release area near Cherry Run. There are 3 wonderful Brook Trout streams located only a short drive from the shop. There is a great country store (Doorman's Country Store in Hartleton) 1 mile away with the best sub's and full meals. There is a Bar & Grill within walking distance of the apartment. If you wish to fish the Coburn section (this is a classic park by the road and fish area) its a beautiful 15 mile drive strait out RT. 45. In the other direction its a 15 mile drive to White Deer Creek with its famous Hendrickson hatch and beautiful Brook Trout. White Deer is a small stream compared to Penns but is usually fishable even in the highest water conditions. Big Fishing Creek is approximately 35 miles from our shop and Spring Creek is about 40 miles. Please call the shop with all requests for lodging at 570.922.1053 and ask for Bruce. All reservations require a 50% deposit and the balance due on arrival.
About the Shop
Penn’s Creek Angler is traditional tackle shop providing quality angling supplies. The shop and apartment is located six miles from the lower boundary of the famous Catch & Release Trout Project that starts near Cherry Run. To compliment this location our shop is within 30 miles of the most productive trout and small mouth bass water in Pennsylvania. You will have easy access to 55 miles of prime trout water within a short drive of the shop. We welcome all types of fishermen and our goal is to have a shop where everyone will feel comfortable. I've been a devoted fly fisherman on Penn's Creek for over 30 years. The shop will have everything to make your adventure a success.
Small Mouth Fishing
Not only is Penns Creek a wonderful trout fishery in the upper river but the lower river from Glen Iron downstream has some of the finest small mouth fishing in the state. Penns Creek Angler also has access to several farm ponds and area lakes that are fantastic for large mouth bass fishing. This is the year to plan your fishing trip to central Pennsylvania and enjoy quality fishing without a trip to the Rocky Mountains. The fishing in Pennsylvania is that good!
